1. Don’t cut it too close (keep the offcuts in mind) because you might not be able to get the same colour later. Check the batch number! We suggest this rule of thumb:
For laying straight: The surface to be tiled minus door and window areas + 10% = Tile requirement. Then round that amount up to the next whole cubic metre.
For laying diagonally and large format: the surface to be tiled minus door and window areas + 15 to 20% = Tile requirement Then round that amount up to the next whole cubic metre.
With mosaic tiles, there are usually very few offcuts.
2. Extra tiles
If properly laid repairs are rarely needed thanks to the robustness of the tiles. Should any damage occur, however, you’ll be glad to have set aside a little extra. This way you save yourself the time and trouble of a second purchase. Go Back
