Kerakoll Biotex – Reinforced Decoupling Membrane for Large Formats

Biotex is a high-quality, reinforced decoupling membrane made from recycled, thermally bonded polyester. It absorbs shear stresses between the substrate and the tile, providing maximum stability when installing ceramic tiles, porcelain, natural stone, and especially large-format tiles – suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Perfect for challenging or heterogeneous substrates, Biotex reduces the risk of stress cracks and excessive adhesive layers while shortening installation times during renovations.

Renovation-Friendly: Only 0.65 mm thick, ideal for retrofitting without increasing the build-up height.

Easy & Clean Installation: Lay wrinkle-free in fresh thin-bed mortar with 5 cm overlaps; ready to walk on after curing.

Application Instructions

Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and stable; level uneven areas before installation.

Prime highly absorbent substrates with Active Prime Fix or Active Prime Grip.

Apply thin-bed mortar, lay Biotex wrinkle-free, press down, and overlap by 5 cm.

Install the top layer using a suitable notched trowel and Biogel adhesive, ensuring full contact.

Transfer construction expansion and edge joints to the top tile layer.
