A: Yes, especially in wet areas (bathroom, shower, kitchen backsplash). Untreated, water can penetrate the fine cracks and lead to discoloration or material weakening over time. Use a suitable impregnation or sealer before installation – for example, our stain protector!

Q: Which tool is suitable for grouting?
A: A rubber float or sponge float – but do not apply grout over the entire surface. Only apply directly into the joints. This prevents grout from running into the craquelé cracks.

Q: What if grout does get into the cracks?
A: Wash it off immediately with a damp sponge and clean water – before the grout dries. Removing dried-on grout from the cracks is extremely time-consuming.

If grout or adhesive gets into the cracks, clean them immediately with a sponge and clean water before the material dries.
